Went from $42k to $66k in less than an hour. Wow.

It’s not a bad starting point for a project but that price is insane to me. I thought the Porsche bubble had started to deflate but I guess not.

$ 66k is nothing when you’re spending $1M+ on a restoration - that’s really what is screwing up the price on these.

Is that (red stuff I assume is) fiberglass original to the car?
Seems weird.
I know nothing of old P orsches though.

Nowhere near a 1mil. 100k, maybe 200,

I don’t know. It depends where you go. A lot of these nuts are doing $60k engine restorations. Add the gearbox, interior, body repair , unicorn flake paint, etc - you’re sniffing at $1M. Add some kind of genius who decides to try and source as many OEM parts as possible, and you’re there. 100-200k is american muscle restomod costs.

A 356a cab is worth like 200 -300. 300-400 are speedsters which are a bit more desireable .
If it was a “pre A” or bonkers 4cam it could be worth over a mil. but that owner would be moron dumping that much for a regular model.

I spent yesterday at Monterey Car Week. Money doesn’t buy brains ;)

That is also correct. At a PCA event, a guy who buys/sells porsches was describin the market and the 356 was one that is in a reset back to reality.
